Position Overview Paragraph

The Application/System Developer position is responsible for custom software development and programming of systems for both SeaChange internal applications and client facing applications. Responsibilities include ongoing system integration of custom developed solutions and enterprise systems such as SeaChange's MIS, GATHER Portal and other internal workflow systems. Process automation is an ongoing focus with system and workflow efficiency being key metrics of success.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development of new software/web applications for both internal & external facing systems
  • Maintaining and updating existing SeaChange developed systems
  • Develop programs and applications using knowledge & experience in C++ and/or C#,
  • Develop utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, VB.NET, C#.NET, and MVC
  • Leverage current versions of Microsoft SQL and other similar databases for backend development
  • Strong aptitude for innovative thinking and problem solving as it applies automating and streamlining workflow processes
  • Strong skills in modern user interface design for web based applications
  • Understand and adhere to SDLC methodology and protocols for system development
  • Responsible for online storefront GATHER portal integration with SeaChange MIS
  • Identify and suggest opportunities for continued process automation through dev solutions
  • Work with CTO to provide both software and process improvement recommendations
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives (such as Kaizen events) where applicable
  • Adherence to all current, approved Information Security policies including appropriate handling of Confidential and Internal data, which could include PHI, ePHI, PII
  • Participate in annual Information Security training as well as topic specific training based on the sensitivity of data accessed

Required Knowledge and Experience

Excellent attention to detail is required for this position with a propensity for troubleshooting and anomaly identification. Very good communication and writing skills are important to appropriately interpret project scope, specifications and instructions. Interaction with customers and internal clients in a professional manner is a key component of the position. He/she must possess extensive knowledge of web based application development, database structure, high quality standards, mature judgement and strong organizational work habits. General knowledge of the printing, mailing industry is preferred.

Able to program using some or all of the following: Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, VB.NET, C#.NET, and MVC; C++ and/or C#

This position requires access to "Client-Sensitive" data, PHI/ePHI access or authorization. Mandatory security training as well as background/drug screen/credit check will be implemented.
